Essential Tips for IDS

AmericasMart Buyers 6AmericasMart’s famous semi-annual Immediate Delivery Show takes place October 28-30, 2014. This cash and carry event is the year’s last buying opportunity where you’ll discover unique products across all price points perfect for stocking up for the holidays or the next season, all ready to take with you!

The October 2014 is the largest cash and carry event of the year, so we have prepared some tips for making it your best IDS experience yet:

PLAN YOUR PARKING: The AmericasMart decks in Buildings 2 and 3 will be open for the Market. If they are full, there are other parking garages around AmericasMart that are a short walk to the Marketplace. A list of garages around AmericasMart can be available via this link: http://www.americasmart.com/market-info/travel/directions/parking#/

KNOW WHERE TO LOOK FOR SAMPLES: In addition to those showrooms that choose to offer samples, an expansive cash and carry temporary Market takes place on Building 3 Floor 1. The temps are open 9 a.m. – 5 p.m on Tuesday and Wednesday and 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Thursday. A full list of temporary exhibitors can be viewed via this link: http://www.americasmart.com/gift/oct-ids#/

BRING CASH: Some showrooms will take credit or debit cards, but most prefer cash during IDS. If you need more cash, ATMs are located in the Building 1 lobby, on Building 2 Floor 2 and on Building 3 Floor 1 outside of the Market Café.

BRING A CART: Samples purchased at IDS are cash and carry meaning you’ll need to take them with you when you leave. Avoid returning to your car over and over by bringing a small cart for all of your finds. With so much traffic on the floors, please be careful and courteous of others when navigating your cart.

LOCATE THE DOCKS: Larger items such as furniture that cannot be carried out by hand or on a cart will need to be picked up at the loading docks. When you’re ready to pick up your items, take your car to the loading dock associated with the building where you bought the piece and an AmericasMart staff member will help you load it into your car.

The Building 1 and Building 2 loading docks are on John Portman Blvd. An additional Building 2 and Building 3 loading docks are on Williams Street.

WRITE ORDERS: Many showrooms offering samples are still writing orders for non-sample merchandise. Use IDS as another opportunity to order for your store or projects.

MAINTAIN CALM: Please remember that there’s a lot of activity and a lot of people on campus. Please be patient and courteous with both other buyers and showroom personnel.
