WithIt Offered Simple Ways to Keep Clients Hot, Happy & Buying

On Friday morning, Melissa Galt addressed the WithIt group’s July event to discuss melissagaltThree Super Simple Ways to Keep your Clients Hot, Happy and Buying. Her presentation covered the power of blogging, article marketing and conpay e-zines to share your company’s experience, expertise and personality. These tools will boost your search engine optimization and provide simple syndication opportunities to drive your messaging both deep and wide. Her formula for success is to CREATE: Connect. Relate. Educate. InterAct. Touch. And Excite to close sales.

Galt advises retailers to use social media outlets to reach customers directly as well as ensure there’s buzz about your products and services. But, it’s imperative to be persistent and consistent to ensure ongoing traffic. Your blog serves a variety of functions including reinforcing your expertise, announcing events and contests, enhancing your credibility, creating interaction, marketing new products and programs and giving customers an outlet to share rave reviews.

None of this has to be complicated if you understand a few simple concepts. First, know your target market and speak to them. Decide if your primary goal is to offer customer benefits or information or if it’s to form personal bonds. Next, create content yourself of go through proper legal channels to borrow content. Don’t steal someone else’s material – it’s not right and you don’t want someone to do that to you. However, cross-posting and cross-referencing helps both parties. Set a schedule and stick to it so readers know how to check back for new content. There are a variety of tools available to get things moving: WordPress.org for your blog; ezinearticles.com for your articles and Aweber, Mailchimp, Constant Contact and Vertical Response among others for your Ezine. These tools make the process simple and manageable for even novices.

To save some time, create templates for articles and create an editorial calendar to stay on track. There are a variety of royalty free image resources to save costs. Make sure your headlines are constructed to optimize search engine optimization (SEO) – which means people will be able to find you and your information when they do internet searches.

All this can seem intimidating. It doesn’t have to be. There are tools to help, and it’s likely someone on your staff is already doing many of the same things on his or her own. Make it part of the job to work on your materials as well.
