Bridal is Still Big Business

weiss-seminarCelebrated event planner and lifestyle expert Mindy Weiss spoke with a standing room crowd Thursday morning about the tremendous potential of bridal business, even in a “down” economy. Every year an average of 2.4 million weddings and 8.3 million social events take place in the U.S. She offered tips and suggestions to help retailers capture a portion of a  business that’s expected to grow 22 percent in the next 15 years.

She outlined the tremendous potential of printable items related to a wedding – even in an e-mail society. Including announcements; save-the-date cards; shower, party and wedding invitations and response cards; frosted cups and custom napkins; note pads; and thank you notes among myriad other possibilities, there are opportunities for wedding-related sales.

weiss-seminar-2Mindy went on to discuss the importance of building a relationship with the customer to ensure you’re the “go-to” resource for items to mark important events after the wedding, whether that’s a baby announcement, birthday party, anniversary celebration, family reunion or a simple cocktail party. No matter the event, there’s potential to foster a long-term relationship by creating a fun, creative, memorable experience for each customer. There’s never really a lull in the business of planning and celebrating life’s occasions, so take advantage of all the opportunities out there to participate.

After the seminar, Mindy went to the DTR Enterprises Showroom on Floor 18 of Building 2 to meet more buyers and show her extensive product line created through inviting company. Check out more of her tips of the trade in her blog at mindyweiss.com/blog/.
