January Market Events: Guaranteed to Please

IMG_2307You can feel the excitement as we count down the days to the first Market of the New Year. Attendees will have plenty to do and see with our jam-packed January schedule at AmericasMart. In addition to the breadth of product in the 13 permanent centers and the 31 temporary categories, attendees can enjoy more than 100 events taking place throughout the entire market. Key events include celebrity chef demonstrations, renowned designer and tastemaker appearances,  exhibitor parties, cocktail hours, free giveaways, raffle contests, and much, much more!

Also, attendees will have the opportunity to gain free education through our renowned AmericasMart University (AMU) program.IMG_2736 AMU is an educational program that features classes during Market teaching fundamentals to equip retailers with the best tools and techniques to stay competitive and grow.

October Market Off to a Great Start

OctshowThe October Atlanta Apparel Market threw open the doors on Thursday and welcomed retailers from around the nation. This Market retailers are looking for immediate fall and the hottest trends and lines for Spring.

The energy at Market was high on day one with exciting events and the opening day of the new swim and resort category called SPLASH on floor 3.

The Daily Strut, which takes place everyday at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., has highlighted the styles retailers can find right now during Market.

Plus, the Friday night hit, the Style Runway fashion show, drew crowds from every floor of the building. Everyoneoctshow gathered in the atrium on floor 2 to watch the show featuring Montreal Collections. And, Montreal Collections featured one of their hottest designers, Samuel Dong. Samuel Dong presented 30 outfits from his Spring 2011 collection, followed by other Montreal lines. For the show’s grand finale, other Atlanta Apparel exhibitors and designers showed their lines and collections after the debut of Montreal Collections.

And, there’s still more to come. It’s only day two of Market! Be sure to experience all at the last Market of the year!

Kick It at the Kick-Off Party!

loewsAmericasMart is hosting a kickin’ kick-off party tomorrow (Thursday) at one of Atlanta’s newest swanky hot spots at the Loews Hotel. Join us at Bar Eleven at the Loews Hotel for complimentary hors d’ oeuvres and specially priced cocktails, wine and beer. Just show up, show your Atlanta Apparel badge and enjoy!

The cocktails start flowing at 6:30 p.m. so be sure to hop over after your day ends at Market.

Skye Showroom Celebrates Grand Opening with a Blowout Party at Market

agaveSkye showroom is opening a new showroom on floor 9—a part of the contemporary permanent showroom collection. It’s new location is 9S335.

To celebrate, the showroom is hosting a grand opening party on Friday at Market this week. The bash will feature live music form Rare Form DJs and a special Herradura Bar. Everyone is invited so be sure to stop by the party on Friday between 5-7 p.m.7diamondjeans

Holiday/Floral & Home Decor Center Blooms as January Nears

holiday.floralAs the January 2011 Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market nears, AmericasMart is poised to welcome new companies and celebrate the expansion of existing showrooms throughout the 13 permanent product centers staged in its four-building campus. One major product center spanning five floors in Building 1—the Holiday/Floral & Home Décor center—is currently experiencing this growth with recent expansions, renewals and additions.

Two new companies have secured space and are set to open their first Atlanta showrooms in the Holiday/Floral & Home Décor center, enhancing the already rich product offered within the half-million sq. ft. of this category. Egyptian Museum will be staged in a showroom on floor 20 (20-D-3) in Building 1, and d. Stevens will be located on floor 18 (18-A-10).ornament

Further adding to the category momentum is the recent recommitment of two anchor showrooms in the Holiday/Floral & Home Décor product center: Accent Décor and Hill’s Imports. Accent Décor will relocate from floor 20 to 18 (18-A-23), enabling the company to more than double its current space. Hill’s Imports will now be housed on floor 17 (17-a-15)—moving from floor 19—in nearly 7,000 sq. ft of space.

The Prom Floor is Already Jumping

promday1The Atlanta Apparel August Market featuring the Nation’s Largest Prom Market is set to swing open the doors tomorrow for the official start, but the prom floors are already buzzing. It is apparent as you walk the floor on 10 that business has already started, with fashion shows, meetings, modeling and papers flying. Showrooms are open and ready to welcome all buyers.

The excitement of the largest prom market began earlier this week with the arrival of the “prom books,” which brought dozens of special occasion buyers from around the globe. The energy they came to Market with is only going to increase as the weekend nears and more buyers arrive and all temporary booths and showrooms open. This is one Market you don’t want to miss!
