Montreal Collections Comes to Atlanta this October

logo-officiel-couleur-mtl-coll-hiver2004We are thrilled to be partnering with the Quebec Government Office here in Atlanta to feature The Montreal Collections in our fashion show, October 17, 2009. The October Market will showcase  top lines manufactured in Montreal and exclusively offered here at Atlanta Apparel. Montreal is home to the biggest Fashion Mart in Canada and headquarters for several major North American apparel companies. Montreal is also host to major promotional events including Montreal Fashion Week, the Fashion and Design Festival and NAFFEM, and the fur show. 

Over time, Montreal has gained a reputation as a design capital, attracting designers from other disciplines. Two years ago, UNESCO awarded a special honor to Montreal by labeling it a UNESCO City of Design. Please join us on October 17 to see what Montreal has to offer.

New Accessory and Shoe lines ready October Market

This Market will feature Accessories for Fall/Winter and Shoes for Spring. Some of our new exhibitors are the following: Nima Accessories (fabulous handbags, great price points), Barrett house, Buddha Happy, Caro’s Jewelry, The Golden Triangle–with more to come!

In shoes, we have a great new line called Mukluks and Project Art. Sam Edelman and Sugar will also be back this year.

New Honors Program, Celebrating Extraordinary Achievement in the Gift & Home Industry

AmericasMart Atlanta and the Gift & Home Trade Association (GHTA) have created and will produce a gift and home industry honors program unprecedented in scope, global in scale and destined to be the annual defining event celebrating extraordinary manufacturing, sales and retail achievement.

ICON Honors: Celebrating Global Innovation is set for a July 2010 premiere at AmericasMart’s Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market and Atlanta International Area Rug Market. 

ICON Honors becomes the first international program fully embracing the gift and home categories in an independent recognition of exemplary achievement across the industry triumvirate:  product manufacturing, product sales representative businesses and retailing.

Eager Buyers Shopping in September

The Atlanta Fall Gift & Home Furnishings Market started with a rush Saturday morning. Registration lobbies were filled with buyers eager to sept-09-mkt-reg-linehit the floors. While many were looking to fill in sparse inventories prior to the holiday rush, a group from VerdeGo – a design and garden center in Bunnell, Fla. – was in Atlanta to buy for a new store as they expand to a second location.

There were plenty of educational opportunities for buyers to gain new skills early on Saturday.  Home retailers heard bsket-class-1industry experts’ advice about how to grow business in a tough economy. Crafty buyers learned to creatively construct gift baskets that will thrill customers while garnering strong profit margins. And one of the most popular spots of ga-sm-seminar-21the morning was a social media seminar explaining why smart retailers should make the most ofopportunities to speak to customers through Web sites, Facebook, Twitter and every other possible medium. Foodies learned from one of Atlanta’s top chefs, Shaun Doty in the state-of-the-art Gourmet Kitchen in Building 2 WestWing. And in the afternoon, the much anticipated Best of Atlanta winning gourmet products were revealed.
